In pageantry, a lot of aspiring models and beauty queens make the mistake of thinking it’s all about their runway walk or their dress. However, to be successful in pageantry, the judges will be looking at a lot more than just what you look like or how you walk!

The interview portion of a beauty pageant is something that is often overlooked by a lot of contestants. However, this mistake could be the very thing that makes the difference between you winning or losing the pageant! Judges will be looking for your ability to convey ideas concisely and creatively, with polish and poise. For this reason, it’s essential that you perfect your public speaking skills, and are able to present yourself with confidence during the interview portion of the pageant.

The need to speak eloquently in front of an audience only increases once you win the crown. Particularly if you win a large contest, you will be making appearances on radio shows, television, and in newspapers and magazines, so good public speaking skills are essential.
